You will have to establish a pre-paid account with the jail's call provider. You pay them for the Jail calls on a per call or per minute basis, you pay us only for your special connect direct inward dial phone number. Because they operate the jail phone system it is impossible to avoid using the Jail provider.

YES. It works with any phone system. The savings are substantial. If your inmate is paying $4.00 to connect plus $0.50 per minute, a 15 minute call would cost $11.00. With our service the call would cost just $4.00 as there are NO LONG DISTANCE charges. Local Calls are always cheaper or free!

Does your service provide the actual phone calls from County/State jails?

No. We are not affiliated with Securustech.net. We just provide a local or long distance phone number that rings to your phone any time it is called. When an inmate dials your number, the call still goes through the normal jail phone system. Your inmate must register your new local number on their approved call list.

YES! Locally dialed calls are based on long distance charges. However, if you find you do not save money you can cancel your account anytime without penalty.

So if my inmate uses your number, will it violate prison rules or policies?

No! Our service and system is completely legal and ethical. Don’t get ripped off by the jail! Your calls may still be regulated and monitored by the jail and you can still deny or accept any call at any time the same way you receive calls now. All jail, prison, facility rules and regulations are still in effect.

We verify any phone numbers we provide you with. We manually verify that our local number actually works to call your phone number when it is dialed.

Is there any relationship between SecTel and the phone service provider located in each jail or prison?

We have no relationship with jail’s phone service provider such as Securustech.net. Jail phone providers have exclusive rights to provide service to the jail. They usually own the phones and lines. So we work independently to get around their rates using our own system which saves you a lot of money.

Is Your Service Legitimate?

We are totally legitimate and not a scam. We have thousands of satisfied customers that save money every day with all our services. These other companies make a lot of money from inmates and their families. Their huge jail calling fees include additional, hidden fees. The prisons also make a lot of money on these calls too. Prisons have control over the prison phone market and SecurusTech.net is a large company that can only survive if prison calling rates remain high. They don’t want people to use our Jail Calling Services because we cut into their profits and help save you money. We provide a reliable and legal way for people to save on prison phone bills - the only way to save.

Can GTL or Securus block SecTel’s numbers?

No! This would be illegal.

Blocking of SecTel’s phone numbers is prohibited by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and in violation of FCC rules and regulations.

For more info see this: FCC Conclusion

Please look for this paragraph:
"We deny the Petition because we conclude that the precedent cited by Securus does not authorize the call blocking practice described in the Petition. As the Commission has previously found, call blocking is largely antithetical to the fundamental goal of ubiquity and reliability of the telecommunications network. We find that this situation is no exception. This Declaratory Ruling and Order furthers the Commission's goals of ensuring the integrity and reliability of telecommunications networks." So this applies to Securus.

If I have an account with Securus do I have to pay them even if I use your services?

Yes. Unfortunately, there is no way of avoiding these companies.
